Today my uncle died. My mum is taking it not so well her older brother is gone and won't be able to visit her anymore. She woke up my brother and I with her crys. But he's in a better place now so I'm not that sad about him leaving us. I just hope his kids or my cousins take it well. I know gina will be coming over from georgia tonight. I hate it when I hear my mum cry..it makes me sad D:

so, in my quest to find new, strange and more powerful beers from around the world has landed me with a new brand tonight. up until now, the common drinks I've had that had a high alcohol content usually sat around 7 or 8 percent content. the highest being Unibroue beers that sit at 8.0 percent. and if anyone has had a try of that explosive jungle juice will tell you that novice drinkers will only need one bottle, and seasoned drunkards will often call it a night after two of those badboys. now, Unibroue's drinks are not a spirit. it doesn't have the same kick that a Gin or Whisky has.. but in the world of beers? it's pretty much at the top.
now, I've found at the back of the shop at Lougheed Liquor store this oddly shaped white bottle of Belgian drink named "Gulden Draak". the drink is named for the golden statue at the top of the clock tower of Ghent. The statue was originally given to the city of Constantinople by the Norse king Sigrid Magnusson in 1111, during one of the first crusades.
this drink has a bit of history.
but the one thing it has more of? is alcohol content. the most ravenous beers out there tend to top out at 7.5% content. Gulden Draak? it sits pretty at TEN POINT FIVE PERCENT. two bottles of Maudite to get the job done? try one big bottle of Draak.
though, it should be noted that Maudite has a smooth, sort of tangy earthyness. a very delicious and savory drink that still packs a punch worthy of an irish pubgoer. it's sophisticated... if sophistication required a year study in Martial Arts. Gulden Draak? it's dark. it's very dark. I can only describe it as an old-englisman's drink. you'd expect it to taste like bits of tree-bark, dirt, sugarcane and pure ethanol boiled in a Dutch Oven for a full day. and it does. but depending on who you ask? that's either terrible or wonderful.
I'm inclined to side with the latter.

so here I go, off to the shops to pick up a new pair of pants, some food for the weekend, some scotch and the like... and all that stuff? would be SO much easier if a car was to be used. too bad that the cost of fuel and purchasing a car would then result with a new pair of jeans that would then cost 9000 dollars a leg. a bit much for levis, I think.
dammit Tesla... just stop it with this whole Roadster business and make a hot hatchback that's a bit on the quick side, seats two, has a bit of a decent trunk and sells for less than 10K.
I am dead serious when I state that the first company to sell a well performing electric hatchback that *doesnt look like some kind of dildo* for under 10 thousand dollars, will then be catapulted past Microsoft, Volkswagen, IBM and Apple as the richest bunch of people to ever live in under than 10 years after the sales start.

I was talking with J.R. at work, on his last day, about our favourite shows, today. and he made a very interesting point! his claim was that I exclusively watch either BBC or web-based shows as of late.
.... and you know what? he's right, it's true.
after Jericho was cancelled? I pretty much gave up on North American television programs. 24 was kinda cool for the first two seasons, Heroes had a great pace until the strike and... well... that's it until you get into "Jericho" territory. WITH the exception of Carnivale. that show was such a work of art, that it really hasn't met any near equal, as far as I'm concerned. but, considering that it lasted two seasons before HBO gave it the ax, it makes no difference.
and THAT is my big complaint... every last great American TV series has always fallen short. weather it was cancelled just after one season or it burnt out after two seasons, the fact remains that no good north american show has given a respectable effort that has pulled it past season three. even Twin Peaks can't escape this.
now, some people will pull the Six Feet Under card on me, at this point... but I haven't the patience. and it still stands that once you get past season two, everyone who adores that show, has a season that they could do without.
but that's like saying "yeah, my wife, she's gorgeous.... just as long as you ignore the herpes."
I dunno. as the days go on, I find myself much more entertained by lowbudget webcast podcasts than "tv". and I think that says something.

Well, I rolled out of bed and made it through my meditation day. I came up with some answers for those burning questions, too...
...while I walked all over town in the pouring rain. No umbrella.
1. Yes
2. No
3. To be able to do what I want, if at all possible
4. Nope
5. I think so
6. Walking in the rain and listening to music; awesome
Good meditation day.

heh, I just overheard someone say "should Russia even be allowed to host the 2014 Olympics, with all this Gerogia business?"
my answer: "what's the point?"
no, seriously. China is hosting them now and they've treated the Tibetans just as horribly, if not worse, for decades now and nobody really seems to care. I mean, hell, the first official Olympic Games were held in Berlin and hosted by Hitler himself in the 1930s. The notion that the Olympics are this bastion of honourable competition, completely devoid of un-sportsmanlike conduct where free nations come together to celebrate non-violent competition is a lofty daydream. I'd go as far as saying it's a farce, by the way that cheating, violence, hit-men, drugs and the toleration of tyrants, oppressors and murders standing next to leaders of free people is somehow applauded and celebrated.
don't be fooled by those speeches, speakers and pep-talk videos you saw in elementary school. the Olympic Games are just as shady and dirty as any other organized sport. just because it's a very old tradition doesn't mean that it's going to stop people from doing dirty things to win games. and it certainly doesn't mean it'll stop them from hiding the horrors they've done to other people so they can host the event and make ass-loads of revenue from it.

Hey guys.
So after a little bit of deliberation, I've decided I'm taking tomorrow off. From like, everything. That's including this fucking computer, or any computer for that matter. I'm going to have a little meditation day by myself.
Because you know what? I need it.
I'm not even back at school yet, I've only worked a couple times per week the entire summer, I recently went to goddamn London - so why do I feel like I'm losing touch with myself and with my own...reality?
Some questions for myself:
Can I seriously get by without constant attention from others?
Am I a self-centered prick?
What do I even fucking want out of life?
Do I totally depend on other people to take care of me, etc?
Do I even have my own personality anymore?
Do I genuinely enjoy anything?
So yeah, who knows if this crazy scheme will hold up in the morning...but I really hope it does. I feel like death. So I'm gonna find a place nice and far away from my house, and not tell anybody (well, I will tell my parents, duh) where I'm going, and just chill the fuck out for the day. Maybe take a real journal out, with a pen and paper.
Like I said, it's not like I have any good reason for this - I just described how my life has been nothing BUT easy-goings for the past few months. So don't give me shit about how I donnnn't neeeed a daaaay off. But if you felt like your brain was going to explode, you'd try to figure out a plan to prevent it too.
So no internet...until like 10pm, maybe. Because, fuck, I'll have to update this motherfucker.
Catch ya later, dudez.

so.. has anyone else had problems with AdBlock?
just today when I have tried to search from the google homepage when AdBlock is running, adblock recognized the whole page as a blocked ad. but when I disable the plugin? it works.
now, this is a bit of a fork in the road... I sincerely hope that it's just a mishap with AdBlock, waiting for an update, but there is a nagging tick in the back of my head telling me that Google won't let me use it's search engine unless I let every last advert bust into my screen like a rusty bulldozer. and the question it brings forward, then is: if so, do I continue to use Google's services?
cause, if they are actively forcing people to look at advertising that is often irrelevant to the users' concern... I would seriously give Camino and it's built in adblocking a try, and switch all my indexing and searching services to Yahoo.
